A healthy delicious organic meal
A healthy delicious organic meal

I believe you should enjoy nourishing your body without letting it dominate your life.

It’s time to bring your family closer together by making family time a priority and supporting one another.  Beautiful flowers on the table, music, laughter, and a good glass of wine with friends and family – this is the beauty of food it brings back family and friends together.

Bring a smile to the beautiful faces of everyone in your family by reminding them how much you care.  It’s not hard to say “I love you”.  Cook together, eat together, make Sunday night a family night, support each other, listen to each other, and have a special bonding.

Experiences make us happier than buying stuff.  Happiness over material items quickly fades away.

Lifestyle

Go out and enjoy good food. Go out and exercise, put down your cell phone, and listen to your body. Listen to your intuition, and trust yourself so it becomes much more than just what we really need underneath our cravings.  Eat more plant based food, less meat, less junk food without stressing out.  Be passionate and celebrate your life.

I will be sharing recipes that are healthy, with ingredients you can buy from your local farmers market.  Use the best herbs and spices you can afford. The delicious aromas and flavors can transfer a dish without adding extra calories.

Water. We all drink it, and it’s necessary because our bodies are made up of 70% water just like the earth! But think about the water in a watermelon, the water in a honeydew, the water in a cucumber or tomato. This water is packed with the minerals your body needs to function.  Instead of bringing home a watermelon, eating a few pieces, then forget it because it is in the refrigerator,  cut up the watermelon, juice it in the blender with ice, and serve it in a glass for dinner instead of water.

Shopping List

Plan your menu for the week ahead of time. When you plan ahead your menu, your budget, you’ll use all the food. If you don’t plan ahead, you’ll waste 30 to 40% of the food, and spend more money on food.

When I plan my menu, I have my cookbook and recipe pages out on the table or I go to www.herbe.co and go over the recipes online. I check the ingredients for each of the meals I am planning for the next one or two weeks.  When I come across an ingredient I need, I simply add it to the list. I memorize how the grocery store or the farmers market is designed then I write the ingredients I need on the lists in a way that reflects the way the store or farmers market is arranged.

Shop at the farmers market, grow your own food, buy local and buy products that are in season. It is healthy for us and the environment.  Buy your herbs, spices, and superfoods in bulk and reuse your glass containers.  Learn how to make your own almond milk, hemp milk, and even almond butter!

Setting Your Table

When I set my table, I like to use color, images and relay an emotion for the table. Set your table with the different type of herbs and that can be a conversation of education on herbs.

Just like when you visit an artist friend’s house and admire all her paintings on the wall, we should create the same experience for our plates. Be creative!

Don’t be afraid to try something new, taste something new, and experiment in the kitchen. Have fun with it. Let it be your form of meditation. Enjoy the smells of the spices and remember to add a dash of love. My family to you…
