Coconut Water with Herbs

I know it is important to drink plenty of water every day.   Sometimes I get bored of “plain” water. Instead of turning to sugary juice or artificial powder to sweeten of tons of sugar or flavor your water, consider using fresh herbs with Coconut water! So good, with tons of health benefits.

I use fresh mint, fresh lemongrass, fresh dill, chia, and fresh rosemary with coconut water!

Mint: a natural stimulant, good relaxant, relieves congestion, aids in nausea, soothes stomach indigestion, increases alertness, and activates the salivary glands in our mouth as well as glands which secrete digestive enzymes which facilitate digestion.

Lemongrass
Lemongrass

Lemongrass:  is used for treating digestive tract spasms, stomachache, high blood pressure, convulsions, pain, vomiting, cough, achy joints (rheumatism), fever, the common cold, and exhaustion. It is also used to kill germs and as a mild astringent.

Some people apply lemongrass and its essential oil directly to the skin for headaches, stomachache, abdominal pain, and muscle pain.  By inhalation, the essential oil of lemongrass is used as aromatherapy for muscle pain.

Dill

Dill: high in calcium, protects against free radicals and carcinogens, anti-bacterial.

Rosemary: powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, strengthens the immune system, increases circulation, aids digestion, boosts concentration & memory, mild diuretic, bye-bye bloat!

Chia Seeds: chia’s positive health effects include boosting energy, stabilizing blood sugar, aiding digestion, and lowering cholesterol.

Rinse your herbs before you use them.

Fill your pitcher with your desired herbal beverage starter. I used coconut water. Other ideas are water, sparkling water, tea, lemonade, etc..

Using your paws (aka hands), crush the herbs to help release their natural flavors. Then put them in your pitcher. Stir vigorously.

Place pitcher in the fridge to chill out. I left mine overnight to really marinate. I love to garnished mine with fresh flowers.  I remember when I lived in Cyprus, I use to eat petal roses.  Did you know, Today, there are approximately 20,000 + varieties of roses in the world.
You can also use Tulip Petals, Violets, Yucca Petals, Sunflower, Snap Dragon, Lilac, Linden, Marigold and so on….Never use pesticides or other chemicals on any part of any plant that produces blossoms you plan to eat.
